DSI Alpha-2 Fluid is an ultra-pure, ultra-clean dielectric heat transfer fluid. It has excellent cooling performance. It's made from highly purified synthetic hydrocarbon oils and advanced antioxidants. This specialty fluid is compatible with other hydrocarbon oils and standard equipment materials.
Alpha-2 Fluid is widely used as a cooling fluid in high voltage electronic equipment, in high frequency television, radio and radar transmitters, and to cool electronic circuit boards. It is also used as a poling fluid for ceramics manufacturing operations. The fluid is non-corrosive and not hazardous to workers. It can be stored, handled and processed in the same way as standard mineral oils. Because of its low viscosity, Alpha-2 cools transformers better than other dielectric fluids. Equipment that was designed to be cooled with standard mineral oils can be easily switched to use Alpha-2 Fluid. The fluid pours at temperatures down to -65 C. It's ideal for applications in cold environments, or when a full-load cold start is a possibility.
